How to Make a Princess Elsa Valentine’s Day Box

Popular Valentine’s Day cards for this year will include those characters from Disney’s hit animated movie, Frozen: Princess Elsa, her sister Princess Anna, Kristoff the outdoorsman, Olaf, Sven the reindeer and Hans the handsome royal. Instead of purchasing the typical and costly Disney Valentine holder, be unique and build your own!

Queen Elsa of Arendelle, also known as The Snow Queen, is the older sister of Princess Anna and was next in line for Arendelle's throne until her powers over ice and snow led her to become the famous Snow Queen. To make the fairy princess holder for special deliveries of Valentine's Day cards from cupid and other pen pals, supplies needed include:

- Cereal Box
- 2” Letter stickers
- Sparkle snowflake stickers
- Artificial flowers or other bling for braid
- Small rubber bands
- Hot glue sticks and hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Off white colored yarn
- Blue construction paper or cardstock
- Elsa face template

To begin, cut an opening in the top of the cereal box. Then, cover the box in colored paper of your choice (cardstock is heavier and will hold up better, but construction paper will do).

Print the Elsa face template using a color printer. Cut around Elsa (including the hair) and glue the image to the front right side of the box, leaving room on the left front side for the child’s name.

To make Queen Elsa’s hair:
Use a wide object to wrap the yarn around. For example, use a kitchen chair and wrap the yarn around until pleased with the thickness of the ponytail. Slide the yarn off of the object and cut in ½, making 2 long groups of yarn. Set one group of strands aside (this will be used for the bangs). Using the other group of long yarn strands, tie one end with a rubber brand. Braid the ponytail and secure the end with the other rubber band. Decorate the braided ponytail with bling, ribbon, artificial flowers or something more lovely for Valentine’s Day, like hearts or diamonds!

Using the other group of yarn strands, cut into strips of various length. Lay the yarn strips over Elsa’s head to form bangs. Once satisfied with the look, hot glue the strands in place.

Finish the Frozen Valentine’s Holder by decorating the left front side and back side of the box with sparkle and letter stickers. Be sure to include the child’s name on the box so others know whose crafty creation it is. How to decorate a snow Queen Elsa Christmas tree

All little girls love Disney’s hit movie, Frozen, especially the main character princess, Elsa. Add some character to the Christmas tree by decorating it with it Queen Elsa inspired decorations. Supplies needed include (click links for detail):

- White Christmas tree
- Aqua blue and silver ornaments
- Blue and white lights
- Styrofoam balls
- Hot glue
- Blue icicle ornaments
- Sheer snowflake ribbon in white and blue
- Disney Frozen character ornaments
- Princess Elsa toy crown

To decorate the Disney Frozen Snow Queen Elsa Christmas tree, begin by adding blue and white lights around the tree. Then, glue Styrofoam balls together to form a strand of garland. Carefully wrap the foam ball garland around the tree. Cut the ribbon in different sizes and drape strands of ribbon vertically from the top of the tree. Add Frozen themed ornaments and toy crown throughout the tree. Form a fairly good size bow out of the blue sheer ribbon and place on top of the tree.

How to decorate a Disney Frozen Christmas tree

Decorate a Christmas tree with the hottest characters around … those characters from Disney’s hit animated movie,: Princess Anna, her sister Princess Elsa, Kristoff the outdoorsman, Olaf, Sven the reindeer and Hans the handsome royal. Instead of decorating the tree in typical fashion – add some character and give it a theme … a Frozen theme.

Supplies needed include:

- Green Christmas tree
- Blue Christmas lights
- White tulle
- Blue sheer ribbon with glitter snowflakes
- Silver and blue ornaments
- Fishing line
- Olaf the Snowman pillow character
- Frozen toys

To decorate the Disney Frozen Christmas tree, begin by adding blue lights around the tree. Then, wrap the white tulle around the tree followed by the sheer snowflake ribbon. Add the silver and blue ornaments, placing the smaller ornaments near the top of the tree. For the tree topper, add an Olaf the Snowman pillow character (available here) securing it with fishing line.

For extra décor, add smaller Disney Frozen toys throughout the tree. On Christmas Eve, Santa will complete the tree with many Frozen themed toys under the tree.

How to Make an Olaf the Snowman Halloween costume

Instead of purchasing the typical and costly Disney costume, be unique and build your own snowman … Olaf!

Olaf is the friendliest snowman to walk the mountains above Arendelle and he likes warm hugs. To make an Olaf the Snowman Halloween costume for boys and girls, supplies needed include:

1. White shirt (tee shirt or sweatshirt depending on weather)
2. Orange, white and black felt sheets
3. White baseball cap
4. White sweatpants
5. Black shoes
6. 12 ounce bag Poly-fil stuffing for nose
7. Scissors
8. Hot glue sticks and hot glue gun
9. Black pipe cleaners

Once the supplies are gathered, start to create the homemade costume following these steps:

1. Using the template available here, cut out the pieces and then trace them onto the corresponding colored felt squares.
2. To make the circles perfectly round, one can use objects around the house that are approximately the same size as the circles shown on the template (soup cans, bottoms of drinking glasses, etc).
3. Assemble the eyes as shown using the hot glue gun.
4. Place the completed eyes, eyebrows on the baseball cap and glue in place.
5. For the nose, use the stencil as a sizing guide. To make a 3 dimensional nose for Olaf, cut a piece of orange felt, roll it into a cone shape and then stuff with polyfil. Attach stuffed nose to top of cap rim using hot glue.
6. Add hair pieces to the top of the cap using the black pipe cleaners available here. Pierce the top of the hat making a hole slightly smaller than the pipe cleaner to push the pipe cleaner through. Allow enough give on the underside of the cap so that the pipe cleaner can be attached and stay in place.
7. Glue 3 larger black felt circles on to the front of the white shirt
